Today we had an early start because we were going on a boat trip. So we had an early breakfast, well it started at 08:00 so not that early.

After breakfast, we strolled down to the harbour to meet the others for the boat trip.

Lipsos Boat

Our boat was called Lipsos, but one of our party suggested it was called Liposuction.

Before we boarded the boat the made all of us take off our footware and they put them in a huge basket, before we departed the basket was stowed away in a van at. the side of the harbour.

Our first stop was just off the coast where there was a goat herd and a little hut. When we weighed anchor the Captain pointed out a loggerhead turtle. On the hill there was about 20 goats.

I went swimming in the sea for the first time since Goa in 2022, it was lovely and the temperature of the water was 24-26ºc. While swimming I went to the shoreline to investigate and spotted some Limpets and then I felt something sting my big toe. My friend had a snorkel mask and he told me that there were loads of Sea Urchins so that was most likely what stung me, but as I didn't see it I can't add it to the animal count. My big toe really hurt for about 3 hours and then the pain slowly began to fade.

After an hour we sailed on to the next swimming point. I didn't swim this time but instead just chilled out in the shade. After about an hour the boat crew provided us with lunch, which was salad, fried mackerel fillets, feta cheese boreks, pasta, beans, fries and rice.

We then moved on to the next swimming place. As we arrived the boat made a terrible noise. It turned out that something broke and we were now stranded. After a while I got into the sea, at first I thought that I'd dive in off the front of the boat. Standing on the edge of the boat my fear kicked in so I went round the back of the boat and jumped in from there instead. The temperature of the water here was 27ºc.

As the boat had broken down we were unable to go to our 4th swimming stop. Eventually one of the other boats gave us a tow back to the harbour. Our boat was probably Lipsos because it breaks down and the lip service is SOS again please.

We had an early night and got some sleep.
