Download our App
Kalkan day 0

Today we leave home to go to Kalkan. When we originally booked our flight was at 20:40 but in April we received a notification, from Tui, that our flight had been moved to another flight. This was probably something related to the stupid war that Trump had started.
Our new flight was now at 06:00, on Sunday 5 July, which meant that we would have to be at the airport for 04:00 at the latest. So we decided that it would be best to book a hotel so we could get some sleep before boarding our flight.
TUI App
When I awoke this morning I had received 2 texts and 3 emails explaining that if I downloaded the TUI App then everything, flights transfers and hotel, would be much easier and I would receive updates and notifications to make my holiday smoother.
This made sense so download I did. Once I had I was prompted to log in and enter my confirmation code. When I had done this my holiday appeared in the app, this was good. I went to check in to the flights and noticed that the flight was the original at 20:40. So I logged into the website and this the data was correct and showed our flight was at 06:00.
The app had a contact section. I used this and explained the predicament and a bot replied to me:
Hi there! I'm Sam, TUl's virtual assistant - powered by the knowledge of our expert team to get answers to you instantly. You can ask to speak to an agent anytime, but first let's see if this is something I can help you with today.
I understand you're concerned about flight information not being updated correctly in the app for your booking.
You can check the current status of your flight
BY532 here http://tuilink.net/056d23e9
If your flight has been delayed or cancelled, updates will be sent to you by SMS and email from the TUI Airline team.
If you haven't received any information or the app data still appears incorrect, please ask to be connected to an agent who can investigate this further and ensure your booking information is accurate.
I replied: Speak to agent
I received a message telling me that I would hear from someone in 30 minutes, it’s a good job I had plenty of time.
After about 25 minutes I got a message from an agent. They told me that everything their end looked good and I should delete the app and reinstall it because it’s: "A bit glitchy". I pointed out that there was no point because the data that the app was fetching is what is wrong. They then explained that there was nothing that they could do and I should call the Pre Travel team.
I called the number I had been given and spoke to a very nice person. After a while of going back and forth they told me that there was nothing that they could do and they would report it to the App team but that would take at least 48 hours, which is well too late for what I need as I’ll already be in my hotel by then.
It turns out the data for the website is different from the data for the app. Someone needs to fix this, or at the very least update both pieces of data but managing multiple pieces of data is just stupid.
Only with love
On the way to Gatwick Airport, we stopped in at Only With Love new Taproom. This is the brewery own by my friend Roger and that I invested in earlier this year, if you'd also like to invest they have options.
Roger gave us a quick spin of the new taproom and gave me a pile of gifts, luckily I had my car so I don't have to take them all to Türkiye.

Holiday Inn Gatwick
As our flight had been moved to 06:00 we decided that checking in to a hotel the night before would mean that we could get some sleep.
The Holiday Inn also offered up to 15 days parking, which meant that we wouldn't have to trek our bags across London of pay for a taxi and it worked out just a little over the price of 2 taxis and most importantly we got some sleep.
