DEVO

On the way in to The O2 I spotted Guadi having a cigarette before he went in.

There was a merch stand outside with a huge queue. I straight off ignored it as I wasn’t really interested. On walking in I noticed someone wearing a DEVO Energy Dome a red pyramid hat. Now I have an issue, there’s a red hat I don’t own. When we got into the venue I saw someone wearing one and enquired how much they’d paid, £40!

Lene Lovich

Lene Lovich had already started by the time we’d got in, but I was confident that they’d not played their hit Lucky Number, I was right. This track brings back memories of youth club discos (sorry kids the tories got rid of youth clubs which is why you have to play with knives).

The Rezillos

The Rezillos also played their hit Top of the Pops. The were famous for making songs about b-movies, robots, e.t.c.

Orbital friends

As soon as they finished a lady two rows in front of me turned round, and it was Mel! The first thing she said was: "Nick is over there". I went and chatted with Nick and the lady next to Mel offered to swap seats with Nick. Now we're all sat together.

DEVO

DEVO’s energy was awesome, perhaps they got it from their Energy Domes.

If you get the chance to see them do so they are fantastic. If not at least watch the DEVO documentary

B-52s

In comparison the B-52s just looked like some old people going through the motions. They hardly moved on stage and had little energy. Perhaps DEVO should have lent them some Energy Domes.

Twice they shouted out the other acts and both times they forgot The Rezillos. Probably because The Rezillos were better.

In the encore they played Planet Claire and in the background the showed a shot of Edwards Air Force Base, were a B-52 crashed last week and 8 crew died.

The finished with Rock Lobster this was the highlight as a giant red lobster with sparkly tentacles came on stage and danced.

Oh and I am now the proud owner of my own Energy Dome another red hat!
